Community Programs

Child Safety Seat Inspection and Installation - The Monroe Police Department has two certified child safety seat
technicians to assist residents on the safe and proper installation of child seats. For an appointment call

Seat Belt Safety Campaigns - The Monroe Police, in partnership with State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, participates in programs to promote safety seatbelt usage for adults and children.

D.U.I. Mock Crash at Masuk High School - Every other year, Monroe Police Officers along with Fire and EMS personnel conduct a mock motor vehicle crash demonstrating the consequences involving intoxicated drivers. This program is offered during prom season.

Child Fingerprinting is conducted for parents to maintain a fingerprint record of their child. Bring your children to the station any time for fingerprinting services at no charge. Fingerprint records are kept by parents.

Firearms Safety - Free gunlocks are available at the Communications Unit in the main lobby of Police Headquarters.

School Resource Officers: The department has two police officers dedicated to performing duties in the schools where they serve as liaisons between the school faculty and staff, parents, students and police.

Community Awareness Program for Seniors (CAPS):
The department and senior citizens of the town of Monroe have formed an alliance which coordinates activities for the well-being and safety of senior citizens.

Internet Safety:
A program designed to raise the awareness of children and adults to the potential hazards of internet use.

Bike Patrol:
There are currently two officers patrolling the town parks and business areas.
