Free Blood Pressure Screening
TOWN OF MONROE, CT (February 13, 2020)
If you haven’t had your blood pressure checked lately, now is the time to do so. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 1 in every 3 adults has high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. Nancy Brault, the Monroe Director of Health, advises that “hypertension is a uniquely silent disease; most people do not know they have it. Uncontrolled hypertension can lead to heart attack or stroke. Having your blood pressure measurements taken can help to identify if you are at risk.”
The Monroe Health Department is providing free blood pressure screenings to anyone eighteen years of age or older. No appointments are necessary. The Public Health Nurse will take your blood pressure and provide you with additional information or a referral if needed.
Blood pressure screenings will be held at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, 733 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe on:
Monday, March 2, 2020 - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Blood pressure screenings will be held at Monroe Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road on:
