HOW TO DONATE TO THE MONROE FOOD PANTRY

  • Bring food directly to the Monroe Food Pantry at 980 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. You may want to call ahead to make sure someone is there, or drop non-perishable food donations in the red donation bin on the left side of the building.
  • To find a list of items the Food Pantry needs, click here
  • Hold a Food Drive at your office, church, club meeting, scout meeting, or family party
  • Participate in the Annual Postal Office Food Drive (held the second Saturday in May) by putting unexpired, non-perishable foods in plastic bags by your mailbox for the Postal Workers to pick up on their routes
  • Purchase extra food at Monroe Big Y and Stop & Shop locations and drop it in the boxes located at their service desks.
  • Look for food collection boxes at area businesses and churches.
  • Purchase gift cards at Big Y,  Stop & Shop, or other area grocery stores and donate them to the Food Pantry.
  • Make an online monetary donation.
  • If you are interested in mailing us a monetary donation, please address and mail a check to:

Department of Community and Social Services
Monroe Food Pantry
7 Fan Hill Road
Monroe, CT  06468

All donations we receive are used to purchase perishable goods, such as: fresh produce, meat, eggs, milk, frozen vegetables; and non-perishable goods to fill out our inventory.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE PERISHABLE GOODS IN OUR DONATION BIN.

Instead, call 203-452-2817 to coordinate drop-offs with our Food Pantry Coordinator. This will help us maintain Connecticut Food Bank food safety guidelines. When perishable donations are left in the bin without notice, we cannot determine their storage history, and are thus legally obligated to throw most of them away. We greatly appreciate your support, and would like to continue working with you to help ensure that we provide food to our clients in safe and reliable ways.
