A marriage license should be obtained in the town where a marriage ceremony will be performed.  No blood test is required.  Both spouses-to-be must appear, present a photo ID and swear an oath.  The license costs $30. Visit the town clerk's office or call 203-452-2811 for details.  

To get a copy of your marriage certificate you may come into the Town Clerk’s Office or request it by mail.  There is a $20.00 charge for each certified copy.  This is only if you were married in Monroe.
